Position Title: Linux System Administrator
Location: Santa Clara, CA
Duration: 6+ Months
Description:
We are looking for a Senior level System Administrator (Level V with 8-12 years’ experience).
This role will be responsible for helping to build a new Puppet environment to support several new products. This includes porting puppet modules from a legacy puppet installation to the new one, as well as writing new modules to support new functionality.
Some of the technologies supported include operating systems, servers, system security, hardware and other software applications. Troubleshoots system issues and resolves or escalates. Creates and updates system documentation, including configurations and backup procedures.
Specific skill set should include experience with:
- Proficient in Linux OS administration and configuration (RedHat/CentOS)
- Proficient in Puppet configuration and administration
- Strong focus on automation
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Familiar with iptables and linux firewalling
- Experience in managing large numbers of systems
- Strong scripting skills (perl, shell, ruby, python, ect)
- Familiar with source code management (git, svn, cvs)
- Familiar with VMWare ESX, vCenter
- Familiar with Netapp 7.x, 8.x, NAS, SAN, iSCSI, FCOE
- Experience with mysql and postgresql
- Experience with dns/bind
- Understanding of networking topologies
- Security focused administration
- Desired but not required experience:
- Splunk administration and reporting
- Jira/Confluence administration
- Splunk configuration and reporting
- Github or stash
- Spacewalk
- F5 Load Balancers
- Oracle Rac
- Microsoft Windows familiarity.
