Job Title: SAS Analyst (Financial)
Duration: 6 Months+
Location: Plano, TX
Job Description:
Responsible for the design, development and administration of transactional and analytical data constructs/structures. Included within those responsibilities are the areas of data access and delivery technologies. Includes expertise in data quality, data organization, metadata, and data profiling. May provide technical support on data warehouse teams. Data set sizes are usually huge (in excess of hundreds of millions of records). Demonstrated ability to move from one sequential assignment to the next (work environment and priorities can change quickly depending on business needs). Demonstrated ability to move data between production systems and across multiple platforms
Requirements:
- Demonstrates an ability to develop sophisticated data pulls using SQL
- Ability to quickly understand complex data structures, profile data, and develop meaningful data extracts
- Develops advanced SAS processes that are optimized for efficiency and built for flexibility through the use of parameters and macros
- Understands SAS at an advanced level and can quickly translate SAS data manipulation code to SQL if needed
- Demonstrated ability to program and execute SAS programs in UNIX
- Understands how SAS processes datasets and can speak in-depth on how the data step works
- Ability to identify, abstract, and encapsulate the components of a process
- Should be able to work independently and develop plans to continuously improve existing processes
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, computer science, or equivalent work experience
- 4+ Years of experience programming in a corporate environment
- 4+ Years of experience in SQL
- 2+ Years of experience in SAS programming
- 2+ Years of experience in Business Objects or a similar reporting environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in engineering, computer science or related field
- 2+ Years of experience as a business or data analyst
- 2+ Years of experience in Teradata
- 1+ Years of experience in application development
- 1+ Years of experience working with VBA
