Resume Tips for IT consultants

I tend to write duplicate posts, so I checked if I had written anything on resume and found out that I did do so but that was a more of a general thing. 1. So the first thing is that the resume should have a summary of the whole resume at the top, it should be a bulleted list of points telling about the skills you possess and in order of their priority.
2. Next is the technical skills section, it should list all your technical skills, probably in a table.
3. Next is the education section, this should list out your education details in brief, the thing to list here would be university and GPA.
4. Then Professional Experience Section, list the client name, location, duration and responsibilities. Responsibilities can be a bulleted list and if applicable list the technical environment of the project.eg: Environment: Windows, .NET, MS SQL etc.
5. Also the most important thing is to count the keywords in your resume, this number depends on a lot of factors but the more they are the more chances of your resume landing on the first page of a job site like dice.com. eg: for a java developer, the keywords might be java, struts, J2EE. Make sure you have enough of them in your resume.
