Position: Project Manager
Location: Pleasanton, CA
Duration: 6+ Months Contract to hire
PMI/PMP and/or rigorous IT infrastructure related delivery experience and experience actively managing project budgets of $1 million or more annualized– forecasting/accruals, earned value analysis, etc. Service Center experience a plus, HR Service Center preferred, but most important is all around project management expertise.
Job Description:
· Works on problems/projects of diverse scope and high complexity where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
· Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
· Develop project management methodologies to develop and execute project plans including – work plans, schedules, milestones, critical paths, project scope
· Demonstrated track record of delivering large, high-quality products on time in a fast-paced start-up environment, with many stakeholders
· Responsible for deliverables, monitoring, communicating statuses & issues and financial management of projects
· Obtains/ manages / reallocates resources to meet necessary goals
· Plans, monitors, and tracks delivery of quality control and takes corrective action as appropriate
· Communicates project information to all project team members, sponsors, and partners, as appropriate.
· Reviews, assesses and communicates quality assurance plan to team members, sponsors, and partners.
· Interact with senior internal and external personnel.
· Responsible for monitoring and communicating project status to all functional management, sponsors, and vendors involved, as appropriate.
· Develop and maintain business dashboards that summarize project elements rollouts including roadmaps, key objectives and critical integration points
· Develops project communication policy, procedures, escalation and risk management processes.
· Responsible for project budgets and forecast.
· Performs variance analysis (including schedule, costs vs. budgets, resources and changes to scope). Makes trade-offs with sponsor, as necessary.
· Performs project risk assessment quantification,
· response planning and control.
· Communicates risks to team leadership and/or management, project sponsors & vendors. Develops and executes mitigation strategies.
· Validates client and functional requirements for sponsor.
· Determines the impact on current/existing technologies and communicates impact to clients, sponsor, cross functional management and partners.
· Evaluates alternative operational efficiencies /business process change.
· May assist in conducting team building/development activities.
· Coaches, mentors, and trains as appropriate.
· Makes presentations to cross functional management, sponsors, and/or partners.
Requirements/ Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
· 8-10 years’ experience in managing projects that are highly complex
· Project Management Professional (PMP) credential
· Leadership skills, ability to set direction and drive team to objectives, leading by example, and teamwork.
· Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to interface with people at all levels of the organization; technical and business sponsors to foster a collaborative environment.
· Ability to work independently, with strong organizational and flexibility skills in a team-oriented environment.
· Adept at using MS Project, Visio, MS Office Suite
· Excellent business communication, writing and interpersonal skills
· Demonstrated ongoing professional development in the field of project management
· Skilled in business process analysis/design, preferably with experience in the HR and/or Service Center function
· Customer focus
· Capable of making reliable decisions
· Ability to work in ambiguous environment and create/suggest solutions to drive work forward
· Orientation toward results and high quality
· Excellent planning & organization skills
· Demonstrated analysis/assessment capabilities

· Experience managing project teams over multiple geographical locations ( both domestic and international)
· Experience working in a highly dynamic work situation with constantly changing requirements
· Ability to utilize various project management tools
· Previous experience implementing a cloud-based solution
· Experience with delivery projects in datacenter transformation environment.
